This Month in . . .

Six years ago, I was fortunate to go behind-the-scenes with Ricki Lake & Abby Epstein as they filmed interviews for their award-winning documentary, Weed The People. The film tackles medical freedom and challenges everything you thought you knew about cannabis. Medical marijuana has the potential to save lives, but existing legislation prohibits millions of Americans from experiencing the life changing benefits of cannabis as a cancer treatment.

It’s a powerful message about cultural stigma, the medical research process, and the lengths parents will go to when their children have cancer. In fact, in many cases, these parents were committing a felony to get their children access to a medicine that has been used for thousands of years, but is banned in much of the United States.

The day we spent together was powerful and had far reaching consequences for dear friends and family members managing terminal conditions as well as healing common illnesses for which there is “no cure.”

These two women, like all of our featured Mavericks this issue, are no strangers to tackling controversial topics, bucking the system and going beyond the status quo to empower you with information and tools to have vibrant health, a successful business and an elevated lifestyle.

Check out our features on Ricki & Abby’s film, Weed The People, as well as from Denise Duffield-Thomas (The Chillpreneur), Dr. Tee Williams (Social Justice Educator), Joshua Becker (Becoming Minimalist), Christine Sellers (Real Food Fertility), Sarah Ancalmo Ashman (Public Persona), Briena Sash (Wellness Stock Shop) and Actress, Sarafina King.

And if you’re ready to make your mark on the world, we invite you to check out the Mindful Mavericks Freedom Business Builder. This truly done-for-you business action plan puts all the pieces together so you can forge your own path to a life-changing, sustainable, 6-figure business.
