Vibrant Happy Women
by Jen Riday

Jen Riday blows me away just for the fact that she has 6 kids! I’m already a frazzled mom with just one kid in my household and several successful business taking over my day (don’t worry, a few of those are going to new homes so I can get my sanity back. I’ll keep the kid, of course!) Anyway, take Jen’s amazing ability to manage motherhood + her time management ninja skills for life and you’ve got a recipe for pure happiness! Wanna hear Jen’s story? I do!
  1. What’s your mission? Tell us about your organization/business.

I’m Jen Riday, Women’s Happiness Expert, founder of the Vibrant Happy Women Podcast and mom of 6. I help burned out, frazzled women find happiness and fulfillment again through the “Vibrant Happy” trifecta of self care, intuitive awareness, and living your purpose. I provide support through my podcast, a time management course, an online membership and through 1:1 consulting.

  1. How long did it take you to reach important milestones in your business or organization?

I started the Vibrant Happy Women podcast 6 months after I began my business as a life coach and now a year later I just hit 600,000 unique downloads. I hired a VA to help with editing the podcast 2 months after I began it and she’s still with me and very devoted and fantastic (I couldn’t do it without her). I’m now 18 months into my business and I’m seeing some great growth in my membership site as well.

  1. Tell us about the “start-up scares”: Was there a moment where you ever seriously contemplated quitting?

There was a moment a couple of months ago when we had a MAJOR issue with one of our kids and it almost sunk me. Self care and meditation are both CRITICAL for me to stay aligned and maintaining the mindset I need to be an entrepreneur. When that hard moment hit, I had been neglecting self care and the stress almost beat me. However, I took several days off to just rest in bed and shift my mindset back out of the pit and to keep moving forward with my biz.

  1. Did you ever “fail” or make a substantial mistake in business or organization? Any serious Challenges? How did you overcome and resolve it?

I spent WAAAAY too much money on Facebook ads for my first launch. I had done a smaller webinar with excellent conversions, but when I did the big webinar with people opting in from the Facebook ads, the conversion rate was so much smaller and I didn’t have a lot of profit when all was said and done.

One of the biggest challenges has been balancing family and work. It’s so easy to allow myself to work longer than I should, especially with a 3yo still at home. I’ve had moments of hiring help to watch her, which was fantastic, because then I work about twice as fast without that fear or interruption. She begins preschool soon and I’m excited to have more dedicated work time. I try very hard to limit my work hours to 30 hours/week; otherwise, my life starts to feel out of balance.

  1. What’s the most impactful action you’ve taken to reach your goal/s?

Balancing feminine and masculine energy. I’ve always been great at push, push, push and hustle hustle hustle… but once I started to ALLOW rather than PUSH, having the mindset of EASE and FLOW, my business seemed to take off!

  1. What would you tell your younger/earlier self? Any piece of advice?

Meditate every single day. Follow your self-care routine every single day. It will make you a better mom and a better business woman. And most important of all, you’ll be so much happier when you operate from that place of alignment.

  1. What the best advice YOU’VE ever received about pursuing your vision?

Take care of yourself, be gentle with yourself.

  1. Has having success in your business/organization or money changed you? In what ways?

Success is two-fold for me: first, I feel successful when what I’m doing what feels easy and aligned. When I’m pushing and struggling, it’s usually because that course of action isn’t right for me. Second, when I’m taking the path of least resistance, the one that feels aligned, the money tends to follow. It’s all a form of energy flow.

  1. How do you create, innovate or break the rules in your life/business/organization?

I love thinking out of the box. Warren Buffet says to do the opposite of what everyone else is doing when you invest. The same works in business. I have something in the works that begins in the Fall that NOBODY else is doing yet. Many of my followers are thrilled with the idea and have purchased it in advance. I try to make every decision based on my intuition and connection with a Higher Power and when an idea feels right, I jump. So I “break the rules” so to speak by not limiting myself to what’s been done and by trusting my intuition.

  1. Tell us about your most successful launch. What was it for and what really moved the needle for you to make it a success? (If you’re comfortable, please share if it met your goals/expectations or if it earned 5-, 6- or 7- figures.)

My most successful launch was a 6-figure launch of my Time Mastery for Women course. What moved the needle was having a phenomenal VA to help with the logistics of the launch.

  1. Stevie Wonder or The Beatles? (this, I must know.)

Stevie Wonder – I love his song “Superstition”
